RUSAL announced that it will cooperate with Lipetsk pipe company Svobodny Sokol to produce aluminum cast pipes. This kind of aluminum pipes can be applied in housing and utility services, oil and gas production, and fire extinguishing.

Besides, a new high-strength alloy was planned to be developed by RUSAL. This alloy will make aluminum pipes have the same mechanical strength characteristics as steel and cast iron pipes.

The price of aluminum pipes is similar to that of high-strength cast iron products; however, the weight of aluminum pipes is three times lighter than that of cast iron products, which helps reduce the cost of transportation and installation of pipelines, especially for areas that are not easy to access.

The annual production capacity of these pipes might exceed 10,000 tons in the future.
