On June 26, South Korea's Trade Committee finalized a 21.62% anti-dumping (AD) duty on stainless steel plates from China, effective for a period of five years. The decision was made based on a determination that dumping practices from China significantly injured the domestic industry.

The AD applies to stainless steel plates with a thickness of 4.75 mm or more and a width of 600 mm or more, which are widely used in various industrial fields such as construction, shipbuilding, power generation, pressure vessels, and chemical plants.

The AD duty rate finalized in this final ruling is the same as the provisional duty rate that has been imposed since early March. It is expected that this AD measure will effectively reduce the amount of dumped Chinese imports.

The products involved are classified under HS codes 7219.21.1010, 7219.21.1090, 7219.21.9000, 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090, and 7219.22.9000.
