Mexico reviews AD measure on US’ seamed carbon steel pipes

According to an official announcement on May 21, 2025, Mexico has launched an administrative review to examine the current anti-dumping (AD) duties on imports of carbon steel pipes with straight longitudinal seams originating in the US, regardless of the country of origin.

This review was initiated based on a petition filed by local producer Tubacero in March this year, arguing that removing the duties would injure domestic production.

The existing AD duties, first imposed in 2005 and previously extended in 2011, 2016, and 2021, range from 6.77% to 25.43%.

The products involved are carbon steel pipe with straight longitudinal seam, with outside diameters greater than 406.4mm and up to 1,219.2mm and wall thicknesses ranging from 4.77mm to 25.4mm. These products are classified under tariff codes 7305.11.02 and 7305.12.91 of the TIGIE.

The review period is from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025, and the analysis period is from March 1, 2020, to March 28, 2025.

The current AD measures remain in force throughout the review process.
