Novelis, one of the largest rolled aluminum producers in the world, planned to lobby the US government to introduce more recycling legislation so as to increase scrap metal supplies.

Novelis’ recycling and rolling facility in Bay Minette, Alabama, announced in May, will help to consolidate the company’s leading position in the US market, while the profitability of that investment will depend on a healthy supply of aluminum scrap in the country whose recycling rates have long-term stayed behind Europe.
