Yazaki Energy System, under Yazaki Group, planned to construct a new aluminum electric wire plant with an investment of approximately 6.5 billion yen.

The new plant will be located at the existing base of the Suvarnabhumi factory, around 40 kilometers east of Bangkok, Thailand. The decision was to meet growing electricity infrastructure-related demand in Thailand in recent years.

The monthly melting capacity will increase from the current 850 tons to 2,500 tons. Besides melting equipment, rolling mills, wire drawing machines, wire twisting equipment, and extrusion equipment will also be introduced to the plant.

The construction is scheduled to begin in June 2024, and the operation is expected in around 2026 at the earliest.
