Hydro rebrands Alumetal plants in Poland and Hungary, unifying recycling presence

Norwegian aluminum producer Hydro is moving to fully integrate and rebrand its Polish subsidiary, Alumetal S.A., by early 2026. This strategic move is expected to present a unified presence in the market, allowing Hydro to take a leading role in the European foundry alloy segment.

The integration will align Alumetal's plants in Poland and Hungary with Hydro's operating model. The plants, soon to be renamed Hydro Kęty, Hydro Gorzyce, Hydro Nowa Sól, and Hydro Komárom, will form a one-stop shop for recycled and low-carbon foundry alloys, supported by Hydro's R&D capabilities and technical support teams.

Hanne Simensen, Executive Vice President of Hydro Aluminium Metal, said that the move will strengthen both circularity and resilience in the European aluminum value chain.
