It was reported that Aditya Mittal, the president of ArcelorMittal, said that he was confident that he would successfully acquire Italian Ilva plant and was expected to start operations in mid-September 2018.

He reiterated that the company planned to operate Ilva with the aim of protecting the environment and improving the society, which would definitely save the plant.

Previously, ArcelorMittal had promised to fully cooperate with new conditions proposed by the Italian government in order to complete the acquisition as soon as possible, making the company to be the largest steel mill in Europe.
