Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance announced that it would immediately initiated an investigation to investigate whether there was any change or elimination in the dumping with regard to the imported carbon steel plates from Ukraine.

The applicant China Steel Corporation (CSC) thought that the differences between the domestic sales price and export price of the related products from Ukraine surged in a recent year, so CSC submitted the concrete evidences to apply for re-verification of the anti-dumping duty rate to the Ministry of Finance.

According to regulations, the investigation period could be extended up to 12 months if there were special circumstances. It meant that the Ministry of Finance should file a report on the dumping of imported carbon steel plate from in Ukraine by next January.

The Ministry of Finance announced on February 20th, 2017 to impose anti-dumping duty on carbon steel plates imported from Ukraine. Meanwhile, the anti-dumping duty would be imposed retroactively to cover the period from August 22nd, 2016, with a duty rate of 17.91%.
