In order to offset the hiked oil price in the international crude oil market, which also brought up the sea freight cost, Japanese shipping lines have made agreement with Taiwanese importers to raise the freight charge by US$1.5/ton from June.

The new freight charge for Japan to Taiwan shipping line will be now US$27.5/ton to US$28/ton in this month.

Under the side effect of increased crude oil cost, China Petrol Company, Taiwan (CPC) has also lifted the fuel price in this week.

The diesel fuel for sea transportation is adjusted to US$633/ton at Kaohsiung port.

Meanwhile, the freight fee of shipping line dominated by China Steel Corp. (CSC) from Taiwan to Japan is also very likely to be raised soon.

CSC is considering an increase of US$2/ton and may have further announcement in next week.
