It is reported that Posco announced to continue to expand steel plant with
annual production capacity of 2 million tons in India Orissa. However, the project has been delay for ten years, but Posco remained positive to see India market steel needs growth of potential, with the opportunity to expand the production capacity in India.

Meanwhile, India’s local steel production costs was more attractive for those imported from other countries. Due to Korea's domestic steel demand remained sluggish and increased energy costs, Posco continued to increase overseas steel production capacity of main concern.
