The UK government decided to introduce new sanctions on Belarus regarding economic, trade, and transport sectors as the Lukashenko regime continues to facilitate in Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.

The package of the sanctions extends some of the major measures against Russia to Belarus, including import and export bans on goods worth around £60 million, covering exports of oil refining goods, advanced technology components, luxury goods, and imports of Belarusian iron and steel.

The UK government also restricts Belarus’ access to the UK’s world-class financial services industry, banning more Belarusian companies from issuing debt and securities in London.
