According to the report from steelmaker SSAB, it has signed an agreement with Finland's John Deere Forestry Oy to supply the latter fossil-free steel from 2026. John Deere Forestry plans to use this steel to partially replace the steel used to manufacture forestry machinery starting in 2026.

John Deere aims to achieve sustainable production on 65% of its products by 2030. SSAB said the collaboration makes it easier to develop sustainable value chains, with both parties sharing a common goal of creating a path to a fossil fuel-free future.
