The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced the estimated anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) margins on steel strapping from China, South Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam.

For dumping, the estimated margins are 12.0% for China, 19.2% for South Korea, 4.1% for Turkey, and 10.5% for Vietnam. Additionally, China faces an estimated subsidy amount of 6.5%.

These results followed an investigation initiated on May 12, 2025, at the request of JEM Strapping Systems Inc., to determine if dumping and subsidies occurred.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) is also involved and will issue its preliminary decision on injury to Canadian industry by July 11, 2025. The CBSA expects its preliminary determination of dumping and subsidizing within 90 days of the investigation's launch.

The products involved are under tariff classification numbers 7212.20.00.30, 7212.30.00.10, 7212.30.00.30, 7212.40.00.10, 7312.90.00.00, 7212.40.00.29, 7212.40.00.90, 7212.50.00.50, 7212.60.00.00, 7326.20.00.00, 7217.10.00.55, 7217.20.00.10, 7217.30.00.10, and 7226.99.00.93.
