Metso Outotec has signed a contract with Beijing Shougang International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (BSIET) to supply a traveling grate pelletizing plant to China's Ruifeng Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. This is the 12th pelletizing plant built by Metso in cooperation with BSIET.

The plant will have a capacity of 1.7 MTPA and start operation in 2025. Meanwhile, Ruifeng will eliminate multiple shaft furnaces and replace them with a traveling grate pellet production line for carbon emission reduction.

Metso has been cooperating with BSIET on traveling grate pelletizing plants since 2008. Its iron ore pelletizing process produces uniform pellets while reducing energy consumption and emissions.
