Sanjeev Gupta, the executive chairman of GFG Alliance, said that its subsidiary Liberty Steel UK planned to resume steelmaking next week.

After the financial crisis broke out in Greensill Capital, the primary lender of the GFG Alliance, and the British government refused to provide financial aid to Liberty Steel, GFG continued to look for other sources of funding.

GFG continued to diversify its global financing channels from Greensill and had regular dialogues with employees, labor unions, customers, suppliers, and the government to explore cooperation methods.

Large orders and advance payments would bring in more cash and would help Liberty Steel UK resume steelmaking.
