For the first half of 2017, Zinc market was seen a good performance upon the slack season; for H2, refined zinc ore re-production is limited by Chinese government environmental protection policy to restrict the supply. So it is expected that the price for zinc will keep going upward trend.

According to research institute information, China’s refined zinc ore will increase 2 million tons in 2017, but due to more strictly environment policy in zinc mine areas Hunan and Sichuan provinces, the figure might be a bit too positive.

For 2017, China's refined zinc ore output forecast will drop by 2% compared with 2016 in general.

Upon refined zinc ore remained lower stock level, it estimated the consumption was up by 1% in Q3-Q4 of this year, the shortage of refined zinc ore was obviously and the market would expect from more imports from abroad. With the circumstance, the zinc price in China would expect to increase further this year.
