It was reported that ArcelorMittal had informed the United Steelworkers union (USW) about they were planning to reduce jobs in Indiana Harbor steel mill.

The company has idled the No.3 and No.4 blast furnaces in Indiana Port and No.6 blast furnace in Cleveland.

The reason for deactivating these blast furnaces was the demand for steel had been hit because many automobile factories in the US had stopped or reduced production due to the impact of the epidemic.
