Germany's special steel producer GMH Gruppe has established a partnership with domestic forged steel manufacturer Hammerwerk Erft G. Diederichs GmbH & Co. KG to jointly promote the decarbonization plan of the forging industry.

Georgsmarienhütte GmbH, a company of the GMH Gruppe, has delivered 120 tons of its Green Power Premium Steel to the company. The green steel was produced in a direct current electric arc furnace using 100% renewable electricity and biochar, a climate-friendly alternative to fossil coal, which reduced carbon emissions by up to 98%. It was understood as the lowest-emitting steel currently available in Germany.

Georgsmarienhütte GmbH stated that the company would actively support the decarbonization of its partners’ products with its high-quality Green Power Premium Steel.
