Metinvest is revising its recruitment and training processes to address workforce shortages caused by war, migration, and mobilization. Speaking at HRD Club Ukraine in Kyiv, Tetyana Petruk, Metinvest's Director of Sustainable Development and Human Resources, highlighted the company's struggle to fill 3,700 vacancies. Traditional hiring methods are no longer effective, prompting a shift towards rapid skill acquisition. Training periods, such as for apprentice steelworkers, have been shortened from six months to two.

Additionally, war-specific training, including first aid, has been introduced to enhance workplace safety. The company also supports returning veterans by providing employment, legal aid, and psychological counseling. Industry leaders at the event emphasized the need for flexible human resources strategies to navigate ongoing instability.
