On January 10, 2025, EUROMETAL, a European federation of steel tubes and metals distribution and trading, submitted its response to the European Commission’s review of steel safeguard measures, supporting stakeholders’ interests.

In response, the Commission extended the questionnaire deadline to January 13 from the original January 10, addressing holiday season challenges, and clarified key terms like "Union Users" and "Interested Parties."

EUROMETAL’s priorities include the questionnaire deadline extension, customs rules harmonization, clarification on the definition of Union Users and Interested Parties, and support for a Steel Summit, emphasizing steel distribution’s role in safeguarding European manufacturing and sustainable steel supply chains.
