According to a statement published by TCUD, in October, the crude steel output of Turkey increased by 0.7% year on year and summed up to about 3 million tons, dropping to ninth place in the global crude steel output ranking.

During the first 10 months of this year, Turkey produced a total of 30.9 million tons of crude steel, realizing a 12.4% growth compared with the previous year. TCUD explained that due to the weakening demand for steel, especially from EU countries, in the last 2 months of this year, the steel export growth may slow down and remain at a level under 20%. Meanwhile, the steel imports, which have gone wild recently, hopefully may be controlled and rebalanced at the end of this year.
