Germany's Salzgitter AG announced that it had commissioned ANDRITZ to build a 100 MW electrolysis plant, which is also one of Europe's largest green hydrogen plants. The plant will be constructed at the Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH site.

From 2026, the plant will produce around 9,000 tons of green hydrogen every year. The electrolysis plant was an important step in the Salzgitter SALCOS® program. The SALCOS® program will be separated into three stages. Salzgitter aims to make its production CO2-free by the end of 2033.
