According to data from Vietnam Customs, Vietnam exported about 1.09 million tons of steel in April this year, an increase of 8.4% month-on-month.

Among them, Vietnam exported 171,000 tons of steel to India, an increase of 159% year-on-year, mainly exporting semi-finished products. Exports to Indonesia were 84,000 tons, an increase of 58.5% month-on-month. Exports to Cambodia were 126,000 tons, a decrease of 16% month-on-month.

In addition, Vietnam's exports to Europe also increased significantly. Exports to Italy, Belgium, the UK, and Spain were 109,000 tons, 65,000 tons, 41,000 tons, and 44,000 tons, respectively, an increase of 65.2%, 32.7%, 95.2%, and 300% month-on-month.

Although Vietnam's steel exports to the US accounted for about 10% before, Vietnam's exports to the country are gradually decreasing due to the increase in import tariffs. In April, exports to the US were about 39,000 tons, a decrease of 67.8% month-on-month. Vietnam is currently looking for new markets to offset this shortage.
