The US Nucor Corporation has finalized the acquisition of Southwest Data Products, Inc. (SWDP), a leading data center infrastructure manufacturer and installer, for US$115 million. Concurrently, Nucor announced the establishment of Nucor Data Systems, a new business unit aimed at enhancing services in the data center infrastructure sector.

Chad Utermark, Nucor's Executive Vice President of New Markets and Innovation, expressed enthusiasm for integrating SWDP into Nucor's business portfolio. He highlighted the acquisition's strategic importance in catering to a rapidly expanding market and reinforcing Nucor's position as a key supplier to major hyperscale cloud and colocation data center operators.

The synergies between SWDP and Nucor Data Systems promise enhanced capabilities for Nucor's Warehouse Systems businesses, particularly in airflow containment structures and new product offerings. Additionally, SWDP's reliance on various steel types aligns well with Nucor's steelmaking operations.
