Taiwan’s CSC pushes wear-resistant steel plates to open up blue ocean market

Taiwan's domestic steel plate market faces stiff competition and price stagnation due to imports, pushing China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest carbon steel manufacturer in Taiwan, to seek "blue ocean" opportunities. At a recent meeting, CSC strongly promoted its high-strength wear-resistant steel plate, urging partners to actively sell this product.

CSC emphasized supporting distributors with competitive pricing and jointly visiting automotive customers who need wear-resistant materials. This strategy is to counter the "red ocean" competition in common steel plates such as A36.

After years of research and development, CSC has begun accepting orders for wear-resistant steel plates that were previously reliant on imports. CSC hopes this new product will enhance competitiveness and open up new business pathways for downstream customers.
