According to data released by customs, Taiwan imported 63,228 tons of hot rolled (HR) steel plate/coil in August with the average import prices of NT$22,310/ton, up by NT$678/ton from NT$21,632/ton in a month earlier.

Among them, 24,791 tons were imported from Japan with average prices of NT$22,709/ton; 20,129 tons were from Russia with average prices of NT$20,950/ton; 12,460 tons were from South Korea with average prices of NT$23,019/ton; 3,472 tons were from China with average prices of NT$25,522/ton and 2,276 tons were from India with average prices of NT$19,309/ton.

At the same time, Taiwan exported 233,307 tons of HR steel plate/coil in August with the average export prices of NT$22,036/ton, down by NT$422/ton from NT$22,458/ton in July.

Among them, 52,563 tons were exported to Vietnam with average prices of NT$20,517/ton; 38,776 tons were to Japan with average prices of NT$25,316/ton; 37,949 tons were to Malaysia with average prices of NT$21,335/ton; 34,480 tons were to South Korea with average price of NT$21,026/ton; 18,170 tons were to China with average prices of NT$23,544/ton and 8,620 tons were to Hong Kong with average prices of NT$22,628/ton.
