India will export 150 high-horsepower Evolution Series ES43ACmi locomotives, manufactured at its Marhowrah plant in Bihar, to Guinea for the Simandou iron ore project under a major Rs 3,000 crore deal secured through global bidding.

These 4,500 HP locomotives feature advanced technology like AC propulsion, regenerative braking, and wireless control systems. Deliveries will occur over three years: 37 locomotives will be delivered in the current fiscal year, 82 in the next, and 31 in the third year.

The significant order boosts India’s manufacturing exports, establishes Marhowrah as a global hub, generates substantial employment, and strengthens India-Africa economic ties. It exemplifies the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by delivering innovative engineering solutions worldwide.
