It was reported that India may impose a five-year, up to US$185.51/ton anti-dumping duty on some Chinese steel products to protect domestic related companies from external low-cost import resources.

Indian domestic companies applying to launch this anti-dumping case include JSW Steel Ltd., Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Usha Martin Ltd., Gerdau Steel India, Vardhman Special Steels Ltd. and Jayaswal Neco Industries Ltd.

In this anti-dumping investigation, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) said that the straight length bars and rods of alloy steel imported from China during the investigation period (2016-2017 fiscal year) has soared.

According to the announcement from The Indian Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Trade, the proposed AD tax rate ranges from US$44.89/ton to US$185.51/ton.

However, the government department added that when the CFR price of imported cast bar and tool steel is higher than US$659.91/ton, it will not apply to the above anti-dumping duties.
