ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) will start the construction of the proposed steel plant in Paradip by January 2024. The plant will be the company’s first greenfield plant in India. It will have an annual production capacity of 7 million tons.

Hemant Sharma, principal secretary of India’s Industries Department, said that the state government has provided 1,485 acres of land to AM/NS India for the proposed project, and the investment of this steel plant will reach Rs 38,000 crore. They aim to break ground for the project in December or January.
