Thyssenkrupp AG mentioned that recent downward purchasing activity in the EU automotive industry affected relevant orders to fall significantly, and steel stocks would be hoarded till the second quarter next year.

This October, Thyssenkrupp was suffered from low water level on Rhine river, and lost 3,000-5,000 tons of steel capacity per day. However, current water level still stayed at low, but raw material supply has returned to normal.

From October 2017 to September 2018, Thyssenkrupp selling volume of hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel decreased to 11 million tons, dropping by 1.14%, and heavy plate volume also fell sharply. Crude steel capacity reduced to 12.1 million tons roughly, an annual decrease of 1.83%, and financial performance in the fourth quarter declined by 6.21%.
