Taiwan's screw exports to Europe rebound in May, prices hit 16-month high

Taiwan's screw exports to Europe, including 27 EU countries and the UK, surged to 40,329 tons in May, significantly rising by 44.8% from the previous month and up by 12.8% compared to the same month a year ago, pushing the volume to its highest since August last year.

Meanwhile, the average export price also rebounded, rising by 7.7% month on month and by 2.6% year on year, a new high since last February.

In the first five months of this year, cumulative exports amounted to about 171,000 tons, increasing by 6.18% year on year. However, the average export price for this period was down by 5.5% year on year, showing an overall trend of increased volume despite a lower average price.
