Tata BlueScope Steel, the joint venture of the Indian and Australian steel giants, is expanding their coated steel production by the investment of Rs880 for a new plant in Jamshedpur. The establishment is scheduled to start the operation by the fourth quarter in 2009.

Besides, they have set up three rollforming and pre-engineered building facilities in Delhi, Pune and Chennai.

This newly invested project will bring out the production of colour coated steel production of 1,50,000 ton and 100,000 tons of zinc aluminum coated steel, which in total the capacity will be 2,50,000 tons.

The demand of coated steel in the Indian market is increasing up to estimation of four million tonnes. Tata BlueScope would therefore to enlarge its capacity of supplying except their current sources from its Thailand and Australia facilities.
