The Kazakhstani integrated steel and mining company Qarmet, previously known as ArcelorMittal Temirtau, aimed to produce 3.5 million tons of steel this year, which increased from its previously planned 3.3 million tons.

Additionally, the company planned to ship 3.2 million tons of steel to customers this year. Andrey Berg, Director of Qarmet's Steel Department, said these plans are realistic and achievable.

Qarmet’s main target for this month is to daily produce 14,000 tons of sinter and raise the production and shipments in sheet rolling shops.

The company is also planning a ten-day repair for the second continuous hot-dip galvanizing line and accumulated metal inventories to ensure an uninterrupted operation of the coating line during the repair.
