Japan exported 22,700 tons of H beams in July, slumping by 46.8% from a month earlier and decreasing by 15.4% year on year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance.

The average export prices of H beams were at ￥60,000/ton FOB, decreasing by ￥3,000/ton from a month ago.

In July, South Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese H beams with 3,600 tons and Taiwan was the second largest one with 7,400 tons.

In the first seven months of this year, Japan’s exports of H beams totaled 234,000 tons, down by 2.9% year on year. The export prices averaged at ￥62,000/ton.
