It was understood that Greek steel pipe supplier Corinth Pipeworks, affiliated with the Belgian Cenergy Holdings Group, recently announced that it would supply more than 180 kilometers of steel pipe for Italy's Adriatica pipeline project, one of the key projects in the country's strengthening of the natural gas transmission network. This project is led by Snam, an Italian energy infrastructure operator.
The steel pipes will be produced at the Corinth Pipeworks' Thisvi plant in Greece. The steel pipes supplied this time include 48-inch diameter steel pipes made by spiral submerged arc welding (HSAW) technology and 56-inch diameter pipes made by longitudinal submerged arc welding (LSAW) technology, with a steel grade of L450ME. These steel pipes have passed rigorous testing and certification and can not only be used for natural gas transportation but also have the ability to transport 100% hydrogen, in line with Europe's energy transformation and carbon reduction goals.
This cooperation not only improves the resilience and efficiency of Italy's natural gas infrastructure but also demonstrates Corinth Pipeworks' competitiveness in high-quality steel pipe technology, which shows great significance to Europe's future energy supply and hydrogen application development.
