Along with the decreasing of construction steel and strip market, China’s steel billet market continued their downward trend after National Holiday.

Though some mills reduced or even stopped production of steel billet, the market remains weak on slow demand.

In Tangshan, price of 20MnSi steel billet was at RMB4,050/ton and that of Q235 common carbon steel billet was at RMB3,900/ton, both decreasing by RMB100 ~200/ton as compared with the price before holiday.

According to related statistics, China’s exports of steel billet in August totaled 560,000 tons. The total exports from January to August reached 920,000 tons, down by 83.5 percent year on year. Besides, China imported 10,000 tons of steel billets in August as well.
