According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), Austria's crude steel production totaled around 614,600 tons in April, a 12.4% decrease from the previous month and an 8.9% drop compared to the same month a year ago.

In the first four months of this year, Austria produced approximately 2.4 million tons of crude steel, declining by 6% from the corresponding period last year.

The country maintained its 23rd position globally among steel producers.

Meanwhile, overall crude steel output in the EU for April was 11.1 million tons, down by 19% year on year. The EU's production for the January-April period totaled 43.5 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 2.5%.
