Brazil's steel bar exports reached about 395,000 tons in the first five months of 2024, down 2.5% year-on-year. However, in May, Brazil's steel bar exports totaled around 128,000 tons, up by 91,100 tons from the previous month and 63.4% from the same period last year. The month was the highest export volume since 140,000 tons in March 2022, a 25-month high. The data includes steel bars, angles, profiles, and profiles.

In addition, Brazil's imports of steel bars also increased in May, reaching about 93,000 tons, an increase of 29,900 tons from the previous month. The cumulative import volume in the first five months was 349,000 tons, an increase of 26.8% from January to May last year, of which China accounted for 30%.
