Steelmakers in Midwest America released the offer price of HR plate and coil at US$570/mt, CR plate and coil at US$640/mt, hot dip galvanized sheet at US$780/mt and medium heavy plate at US$850-870/mt.

Also, CRU index was at 154.7 last week, up by 0.9 percent from two weeks ago and down by 0.2 percent from last month.

The flat product prices kept steady, but presented a slight downtrend in America market last week due to low demand and decreasing price of scrap.

So far America market can only accept the rising price by US$20/short ton despite stock and imports decreasing dramatically.

For long products, mills in Midwest America released the offer price of rebar at US$641/short ton and wire rod at US$670/mt.

Currently, the export price of rebar to America still remains at US$610-630/short ton.

It is expected that the import price of rebar in America will keep dropping in the next few weeks owing to downside demand in Europe and Middle East markets.
