In response to the previous supply chain disruption caused by Covid-19, US steel manufacturers are looking for solutions for fulfilling customers’ orders.

According to the reports, Nucor Corporation stated that its current capacity utilization rate is about 95% to meet the trend of demand for steel inventories. SSAB also said that it is seeking to redesign its supply chain.

On the other hand, due to constraints of the supply chain caused by the shortage of semiconductor chips, automakers have been struggling to maintain production in 2021. According to Cleveland-Cliffs, once automakers can resume production at full capacity, this will bring bullish opportunities to the steel industry.

In this regard, Nucor said that the continuous growth in steel demand in the automotive industry in the next few years will enable the company to carry on the expansion of investment and cooperation with automotive clients.
