Steel prices in general are expected to increase by US$40 to 50/ton after the summer vacation in the UK. On top of the high price of raw steel, some producers will be shutting down furnaces for maintenance in the coming months. This will then reduce the production rates and availability in the market. Some European producers and stockists have already started planning to increase sections, tubes and sections prices soon. (June 27)
