Recently, South Korean distributors have sought to raise the prices of hot rolled coil (HRC) originated from China after the end of summer vacation.

It’s known that the current transaction prices of HRC originated from China have been up to 810 thousand ~ 820 thousand won/ton from 800 thousand won/ton before the summer vacation.

Also, the prices of HRC produced by local mills have increased as well. It’s said that the prices of HRC offered by Hyundai Steel have soared to 870 thousand ~ 880 thousand won/ton from 850 thousand won/ton.

It’s analyzed that as South Korean distributors have tried to hike the steel prices to compensate the loss they suffered in the past two months.
