Guinea's official website announced that the FRIGUA alumina plant in the FRIA area of Guinea which is belonged to RUSAL is expected to restart in the near future, to resume production.

Russia was forced to shut down the factory due to the outbreak of a sustained, large-scale strikes in 2011,since when started the recession, FRIA turned into a ghost town.

The Guinea government and the Russian Aluminum Group signed a cooperation agreement in Moscow,Russia promised to restart FRIGUA alumina plant.

The investigation team composed by technical experts from the United States, France & Russia, came to FRIGUA plant to do field research demonstrating the restart program.
