Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has agreed to acquire American Alloy Steel, a Houston, Texas-based distributor of steel plates and round bars. The terms of the transaction weren't disclosed.

Scottsdale, Arizona-based Reliance said the acquisition will enhance the company's value-added processing capabilities in burning, cutting, rolling, and beveling.

Karla Lewis, President and CEO of Reliance, said they look forward to continuing to grow the American Alloy business, particularly in value-added processing, and leveraging their collaborative efforts to expand the products and services of American Alloy and their existing Reliance companies.
