Russia’s steel manufacturer, NLMK Group, announced that it would spend EUR 150 million to upgrade the hot-rolled strip mill at its Belgian subsidiary, NLMK La Louvière, which was expected to increase its production capacity from 1.7 million tons to 2.2 million tons in 2022.

It was understood that NLMK La Louvière focuses on the production of automotive steel. With the modernization of the equipment, the company decided to update the equipment in order to provide high-quality products to customers in the EU.

The plant's hot rolling mill has stopped production last Saturday, and it was expected to take five weeks until it resumes production in March after the installation of three finishing mills.
