According to the market news, the Malaysian Department of Environment (DOE) applied strict requirements on scarp imports under HS code 7204, 7404 and 7602.

The new guidelines said exporter to provide certification of contains not exceed 0.3% in weight for electronic waste and the scarp has been depolluted.

Meanwhile, without the declaration of the end user name such as steel mill or local recycling company, the traders were prohibited to import any scarp.

Malaysian DOE announced the new regulation on the website until January 30th, 2020, then asked all shipments were required to fulfill the guidelines.
