A leading Japanese specialty steelmaker announced plans to nearly double their production. Daido Steel is planning to increase their production to cater for the growing demand from the automobile and aerospace industries. The ¥19.7 billion yen ($169.1 million) expansion project at the company’s Chita and Nagoya plants is expected to be start in the coming fiscal year. The expansion will increase the production capacity at the Chita plant from the current 130, 000 tpy to 270, 000 tons while the capacity at the Nagoya plant will be 4, 700 tpy on completion of the project, up 20 percent from its current level.
