Indian automotive exhaust makers, Suzuki, Tata Motors, BMW, Ford and Mercedes, have expressed their opposition to the Indian government's new rule to add the anti-dumping duty on the imports of stainless steel products.

The automotive exhaust makers pointed out that the alloy high grade they need only can be imported because the local mills can't supply.

"Any restriction on imports of high grade stainless steel will hit our industry as we have to import the same for making automotive exhaust products," International Tube Association Vice-President Yogesh Bhatia said.
