It was reported that the Indian economy was growing at a much faster rate than many large economies in 2018 and was expected to overtake the UKto become the world's fifth largest economy this year.

However, there were still a lot of challenges on the path of the Indian economic growth due to the global economic slowdown, India's monetary policy and political risks.

The Indian economy was affected by turmoil in emerging markets and currency depreciation last year, but India is currently the sixth largest economy in the world and is heading towards the fifth place according to the latest report from the World Bank.
