According to the report of Sunday Times, UK based Corus Steel, with 22,000 employees in Britain, plans to lay off about 3,500 employees of its British subsidiary in response to collapse of steel demands, especially from automotive and construction industries.

The company just announced to cut its output by 30 percent for the next few months until the demands recover. Currently, the company is estimated to yield 20 million tons of steel annually.
